The Asociación Ibérica de Limnología (Iberian Association of Limnology) has awarded the prize for the best dissertation 2018/19 to Nicolas Valiente Parra for his dissertation A multidisciplinary approach for assessing natural attenuation of pollutants in a highly saline lake-aquifer system: the case of Pétrola Lake, Spain. The dissertation was co-supervised by Juan José Gómez Alday (Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha) and Franz Jirsa from the Environmental Chemistry Group.
