  • Anlässlich des Dies Academicus der Universität Wien am 12. März 2010 erhielten Christian Kowol den Bank Austria Prize for Innovative Research und Christian Hartinger den Bank Austria Prize for Innovative Teaching.
  • Alexander Egger erhielt den Doc.Award 2009 der Universität Wien gemeinsam mit der Stadt Wien für seine herausragende Dissertation.
  • Christian Hartinger, Maria Mendoza-Ferri, Alexey Nazarov, Wolfgang Kandioller, Kay Severin and Bernhard Keppler erhielten den AOC Best Publication Award für ihre Publikation 'Modifying the structure of dinuclear ruthenium complexes with antitumor activity'
  • Muhammad Hanif erhielt den Asian Biological Inorganic Chemistry (AsBIC) IV Travel Award
  • Irena Pashkunova-Martic erhielt den ALSA Award 2009 für ihre Forschung im Bereich neuer Kontrastmittel für Magnetresonanztherapie.
  • Lukas Filak erhielt den Würdigungspreis 2009 des Bundesministeriums für Wissenschaft und Forschung.
  • Michael Reithofer erhielt vom Bundesminsterium für Wissenschaft und Forschung den Award of Excellence 2008 für herausragende Dissertationen an österreichischen Universitäten verliehen.
  • Michael Grössl received an Erwin Schrödinger Fellowship for his research on "interaction of metal-based drugs on cancer cells" and will work with Professor Paul Dyson at the Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne.
  • Iryna Stepanenko has received a Herta Firnberg grant for her research on metal-based antitumor therapies. 
  • Christian Hartinger received an Erwin Schrödinger Fellowship and works at the Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne with Prof. Paul J.Dyson
  • Research grants of the University of Vienna have been awarded to Anna Bytzek, Daniela Hausen and Yulia Scaffidi-Domianello for their resarch work on metal containing cancer therapeutics and their mode of action and interaction with biomolecules
  • Dirk Deubel was awarded an APART Fellowship by the Austrian Academy of Sciences for his project "Modeling of Anticancer Metallo Drugs"
  • Michael Grössl received a COST short term mission for his research at the Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne with Prof. Paul J. Dyson
  • Michael Reithofer works within an Erwin Schrödinger Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with Prof. R. Schrock.
  • Dirk Deubel from ETH Zürich worked at the institute within a Lise Meitner-Postdoctoral Fellowship
  • Alexey Nazarov received a Marie Curie Intra-European Fellowship and works at the Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne with Prof. Paul J.Dyson
  • Anja Stojanovic received a Marie Curie Grant within the EU Program Initial Training Network Minilubes (Mechanisms of interactions in nano-scale of novel ionic lubricants with functional surfaces) at the Martin Luther Universität Halle-Wittenberg.
