Franz Jirsa was appointed another three years as visiting professor at the university of Johannesburg. Focus of the longstanding cooperation with Prof. Annemarie Avenant-Oldewage, department of zoology, is the influence of mining and heavy metals on aquatic ecosystems, including parasite communities.
