Inaugural Mini-Symposium of the Joint Applied Medicinal Radiochemistry Facility

11.11.2024

New meeting brings together Viennese scientists in radiopharmaceutical and radiochemical sciences.

The Joint Applied Medicinal Radiochemistry Facility successfully hosted its first mini symposium on November 8, 2024. In the spirit of the facility, the meeting brought together Viennese scientists working in the fields of radiopharmaceutical and radiochemical sciences to increase awareness of available expertise and equipment, with the goal of fostering future collaborations.

The University of Vienna was represented by Prof. Tom Mindt from the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry, head of the University's part of the Facility, and Prof. Verena Pichler from the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. From the Medical University’s Department of Biomedical Imaging and Image-guided Therapy, presentations were given by Prof. Cecile Philippe, Prof. Claudia Kuntner, and Dr. Thomas Wanek, along with Prof. Oliver Langer from the Department of Clinical Pharmacology. Dr. Veronika Rosecker joined from the Technical University’s Center for Labelling and Isotope Production.

Covering a wide range of topics and maintaining a high scientific standard, the meeting was a great success and an excellent opportunity for scientific exchange among Viennese researchers. This newly established symposium will be held annually, with the University of Vienna and the Medical University of Vienna alternating as hosts. Stay tuned for the second Mini-Symposium of the Joint Applied Medicinal Radiochemistry Facility at the Medical University in 2025!
