Andreas Gradwohl from the Environmental Chemistry Group was awarded the prize for his presentation "Synthesis of the novel, highly hydrophobic task-specific Ionic Liquid [TOPP]2[PAM] and first results for the selective extraction of Rare Earth Elements" at the 5th International Caparica Conference on Pollutant Toxic Ions and Molecules 2023 in Caparica, Portugal.
At the conference, head of the group Dr. Franz Jirsa gave a keynote lecture, and Dr. Jakob Windisch, who graduated earlier this year, an oral presentation ("Metals and metalloids in macrophytes of an acid mine drainage impacted river system in South Africa: aspects of bioindication and phytoremediation").
